St. Alphonsus Church

Rev. Hyazinth Epp, O.M. Cap.

Pastor of St. Alphonsus, 1886-1890 and 1897-1900.

He was founder of the St. Augustine Province of the Capuchin order and was responsible for sending friars to western Kansas to serve the German-Russian population. The town of Hyacinth in Ellis County, KS is named after him.
